Billy Fash '11 - Baseball

  • With two outs in the seventh inning, Billy had the game-winning hit for the Scots in their final regular season game against Summit Christian.
  • Billy finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Michael Lipin ' 09 - Lacrosse

  • Michael continued his unselfish play at the FHSAA state lacrosse championships with six assists and three goals in two games as the Scots won their seventh straight state title.
  • Michael led the team with 56 assists for the season.
  • Michael will be attending Yale University in the fall.

Zach Katz '10 - Tennis

  • Zach defeated Benjamin's number one player in two sets (6-3, 6-2).
  • Zach, who also plays number one for the Scots, continued his undefeated season in singles competition improving to 7-0.

Ahsya Devocht-Patel '09 - Track and Field

  • Ahsya finished 3rd in the 100-meter hurdles at the Palm Beach County track and field championships.
  • Ahsya is hoping to return to the FHSAA state championship finals where in 2007 she finished third in the 100-meter hurdles.

Eddie Mulder '10 - Track and Field

  • Eddie finished in seventh place with a personal best (10:29) in the boys 3200-meter run at the Palm Beach County Championships.
  • Eddie is a three-sport varsity athlete competing in cross-country, soccer, and track.

Caroline Young '09 - Water Polo

  • Caroline had 11 goals in three games last week helping the Scots (14-4) to a number one seed for the district tournament.
  • Caroline has 69 goals, 31 assists, and 45 steals this season.
  • Caroline will be attending Colorado State University to play water polo next year.

Mario Cardenas '11 - Water Polo

  • Mario had 16 goals, 16 assists, and 12 steals in four games at the Gulliver Prep Water Polo Tournament.
  • Mario is the leading scorer for the Scots (13-5) with 63 goals on the season.

Liz Boshart '10 - Softball

  • In two wins, Liz went 6-for-7 with a triple and a double.
  • Liz drove in six runs with four runs scored and had no errors at shortstop.
  • In 12 games this season Liz has a .540 (20-37) batting average with 27 RBIs, 15 runs scored, 2 homeruns and 8 stolen bases.

Megan Vanderslice '09 - Lacrosse

  • In two games last week, Megan scored 12 goals to help the Scots improve to 8-0 on the season.
  • In just six games played this year, Megan has 31 goals, three assists, 17 ground balls, five interceptions, three caused turnovers and 20 draw controls.

Chloe Braun '15 - Softball

  • Chloe pitched 17 innings in three games giving up only three earned runs while striking out 27.
  • Chloe also went 6-for-12 at the plate scoring six runs and driving in another.

Brett Rose '10 - Baseball

  • In two games, Brett went 4-for-5 with a single, two doubles, one home run, one sacrifice fly and two RBI.
  • Brett also pitched six innings striking out 12 batters and only giving up one earned run.

Matthew Bellando '10 - Lacrosse

  • Matt had 10 goals and 5 assists in two games against the Bolles School and Nease High School. 
  • Matt scored 70 goals and had 30 assists last year for the state champion Scots.

Ryan Logan '10 - Soccer

  • Ryan had one goal in the Scots 4-2 victory in the FHSAA Regional Quarterfinals over John Carroll.
  • Ryan also had 2 assists in the Scots district championship game.
  • Ryan has been a consistent threat this year at striker with 12 goals in 17 games played and 7 assists.

Laura Weinberg '10 - Soccer

  • Laura scored the winning goal in overtime for the Scots to defeat Pope John Paul II 2-1 and claim the district 3A championship.
  • Laura was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Girls' High School All-American soccer team for 2008.

Blake Sufferling '09 - Wrestling

  

  • Blake won all three matches in a three team home wrestling match in the 171 pound weight class pinning two of his opponents.
  • Blake is currently 20-1 on the season.

Josh Bloom '09 - Basketball

  • Josh was named to the All-Tournament Team for this year's Saint Andrew's Holiday Basketball Classic.
  • Josh compiled 46 points and 10 rebounds in the three game tournament.
  • On the season, Josh is averaging 16 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Jong Seok Park ' 10 - Wrestling

  • Jong Seok placed first after pinning his opponent in the 112 pound weight class in an 11 team tournament held at Park Vista.
  • Jong Seok was voted the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
  • Jong Seok helped the Scots place third.

Quinn Cassidy '13 - Swimming

  • Quinn was a bronze medalist in three events in the Region 4A Swimming and Diving Championships.
  • Quinn recorded best times in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.99), the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.21) and the 200-yard medley relay (breaststroke leg 27.24).
  • Quinn helped the Scots place third in the region.

October 27 - November 1, 2008

Jorge Castillo '09 - Football  

  • Jorge recovered a blocked punt in the endzone to score the only touchdown in the game against district opponent Pope John Paul II.
  • Jorge also had four fumble recoveries in the same game against PJP II.
  • Jorge helped the Scots go to 2-1 in district competition.

October 27 - November 1, 2008

Seth Weil '09 - Swimming

  • Seth earned All-American status by posting a time of 21.35 in the 50-yard freestyle in the 2008 district meet.
  • Seth was also a member of the boys 400-yard freestyle relay team where he recorded an impressive anchor leg time of 46.75 helping the Scots to top Pine Crest in the final event of the district meet.
  • Seth helped lead the Scots to a runner-up finish in the 2008 district meet.

Tayler Tremblay '10 - Bowling

  • Tayler bowled a score of 215 and 174 against Santaluces Community High School.
  • Tayler captured the league's high game and high series for girls bowling during the week.
  • Tayler is a four sport varsity athlete competing in bowling, volleyball, basketball and track and field.

Emily Norton '11 - Swimming

  • Sophomore Emily Norton placed first in the 100-yard breastroke at the Palm Beach County swimming championships with a time of 1:06.96.
  • Emily swam against five seniors and her time was within seven-tenths of a second off the standard for All-American consideration.
  • Emily was a member of the 200 medley relay team that earned an All-American consideration standard.
  • Emily helped the girls finish third with the combined team placing first in the championship.

Kimmy Schmutz '14 - Cross Country 

  • Seventh grade student Kimmy Schmutz placed fourth out of 210 runners in the John I. Leonard Invitational.
  • With a best time of 20:56, Kimmy helped the Scots girls team finish as the top team from Palm Beach County.

Taylor Kennedy '11 - Volleyball

  • Top performer in district game against Cardinal Newman with 11 service points, 18 kills, 17 digs and 3 blocks.
  • In 18 matches this season, Kennedy has 14 aces, 82 service points, 142 kills, 20 blocks and 181 digs.
  • Kennedy helped the Scots go 2-1 in district play

Ben Dexter '10 - Football

  • Rushed 20 times for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns against district opponent Cardinal Newman on Friday, September 26.
  • On defense Dexter had 9 tackles, 3 of which were for losses.
  • Helped the Scots defeat Cardinal Newman 28-16 for first district win in three years.

September 15-20, 2008

Genevieve Aube '10 - Swimming

  • Placed first in the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.57) in meet against West Boca and Olympic Heights on Wednesday, September 17. 
  • Member of two winning relay teams in the same West Boca and Olympic Heights meet helping the Scots place first.
  • Set meet record 3 days later on Saturday in the 100 yard backstroke (1:01.05) in a 19 team meet hosted by Saint Andrew's.
  • Set personal best (2:01.63) in the 200 yard freestyle placing 4th in the same 19 team meet helping the girls place second.
