A Message from Micah Ferranti '99

My Fellow Scots,
Saint Andrews’s continues to move forward, and it is both my pleasure and honor to serve you as President of the Saint Andrew’s Alumni Association.
The mission of the Alumni Association is to enhance the lifelong Saint Andrew's experience by SERVING, INVOLVING, and INFORMING our alumni, current and future students, and friends of the school. You will find that our school continues to grow and that our reputation as an exceptional institution strengthens every year. I invite you to come back to campus and rediscover your alma mater. You will be amazed!
There are so many ways to stay connected to SA. Opportunities exist to volunteer at career day, to be a guest reader in the Lower School, and to speak in chapel about your life experiences. If you keep your profile updated on our website and become a fan on Facebook, you will receive all the latest Saint Andrew’s news.
Many alumni events have been planned for the 2010-2011 school year that should not be missed, including:
- Homecoming Weekend - Friday, October 22, 2010 thru Sunday, October 24, 2010
- Reunion Campus Event - Saturday, October 23, 2010
- Tartan Tuesdays - Every First Tuesday in Mariani Great Hall
- Young Alumni Thanksgiving Luncheon - November 24, 2010
- Regional Receptions in Boston and Naples, just to name a few...
- AND…Stay tuned for updates and information about the 50th anniversary celebration in 2011-2012!
Another way to stay connected is to support Saint Andrew’s financially. Many of you have asked me, “Why does SA ask for money for the Annual Fund?” The Annual Fund provides necessary financial resources for countless enhancements and enrichments to our school. You may not be aware that tuition only covers about 80% of the cost to educate a child. Much of the difference is made up of generous donations from alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and grandparents. Alumni gifts have always been vital to the success of meeting our annual budget.
There are many choices in the Family of Annual Funds. Below are brief descriptions of the different funds you might like to direct your gift.
The Family of Annual Funds
- Student Scholarship - Last year, even greater portions of the Annual Fund were devoted to need-based scholarships, ensuring that qualified students can enter or continue at SA.
- Arts Fund- On canvas, in a concert hall, or on stage, Saint Andrew's celebrates our student artists. Gifts to the Arts Fund help support programs that encourage creativity and individual expression by enhancing arts facilities and resources.
- Athletics Fund - Saint Andrew's Athletic Program has been rated the #1 Athletic Program in Palm Beach County for five consecutive years! Gifts to the Athletics Fund support a strong program that offers students opportunities for teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Campus Fund - More than 80 acres of attractive landscaping and charming Bahamian architecture create a beautifully safe and secure environment in which the mind, body, and spirit thrive. Gifts to the Campus Fund ensure the maintenance of our campus for current and future generations of Saint Andrew's students.
- Faculty Fund - Faculty is at the heart of a Saint Andrew's education and ultimately determines the quality of the education that our students receive. Gifts to the Faculty Fund provide faculty with competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth and development, enabling the school to recruit and retain teachers of the highest academic caliber.
- Where Saint Andrew's Needs It Most – Gifts to Where Saint Andrew's Needs It Most enable the Board of Trustees and Headmaster to fulfill the school's mission.
Rest assured that gifts to any of the funds listed above will benefit every student, every day, and gifts of any size will make a difference.
I encourage you to support Saint Andrew’s and to take advantage of the many alumni events that we offer…please come back to campus and reconnect with our school. There are so many ways to show your Scots Spirit!
I look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Micah Ferranti ’99
